Conferences
Our tenth biennial regional folk harp conference will take place October 24, 25, and 26, 2008, in the music building of Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. Special guest artist for this conference is William Jackson. Best known for his leadership in the field of Scottish harp, he is also renowned as a composer of music for orchestra or small groups. His music and playing have been featured on many recordings, movies, and television productions, and it always reflects his deep connection with his heritage.
The Joanne Eenigenburg Memorial Concerts are dedicated to one of GLH's early organizers. The concerts are free to registrants. General admission is $5; $3 for students and seniors. The concerts will feature headliner William Jackson, Carl and Mona Johnson, Joy Yu Hoffman, Liz Cifani, Cynthia Shelhart, Annette Bjorling, and Kelly Yousoufian.
